AMERICAN BUREAU OF SHIPPING

Since its founding in 1862, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), a New York not-for-profit corporation, has been committed to setting the standards for safety and excellence as one of the world’s leading ship classification societies. The mission of ABS is to serve the public interest as well as the needs of our members and clients by promoting the security of life and property and preserving the natural environment.

ARDENT

Ardent is the merger of Svitzer Salvage and Titan Salvage. Ardent was created to offer a more comprehensive solution to the maritime industry. Diversified services include traditional salvage and a full range of emergency management services, project-related work, offshore decommissioning, and underwater services.

BAHAMAS MARITIME AUTHORITY

The Bahamas Maritime Authority Mission Statement is “to administer the registration and regulation of the Bahamas ships, adopting international standards of safety, security and environmental protection to ensure a fleet of the highest quality.”

MARSHALL ISLAND REGISTRY

International Registries, Inc., (IRI) and its affiliates provide administrative and technical support to the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime and Corporate Registries. IRI has been administering maritime and corporate programs and has been involved in flag state administration since 1948. IRI has an excellent reputation within the international business community and continues to be at the forefront of vessel and corporate registration. IRI is the world’s most experienced, privately held maritime and corporate registry service provider, recognizing the specialized needs of the shipping and financial services industries across a broad commercial and economic spectrum.

BALTIC EXCHANGE

The Baltic Exchange is the world’s only independent source of maritime market information for the trading and settlement of physical and derivative shipping contracts. It has an international community of over 600 member firms, encompasses the majority of world shipping interests, and commits to a code of business conduct encapsulated in the motto, “Our word our bond.”

GALLAGHER MARINE SYSTEMS

Gallagher Marine Systems (GMS) is the industry’s most comprehensive source of full-service, in-depth compliance support. The GMS Qualified Individual (QI) and Spill Management Team (SMT) include some of the most highly qualified and extensively experienced oil spill casualty response experts in the industry. Presently, GMS provides full-service regulatory compliance to more than 400 global shipping companies representing over 4,000 tankers and non-tankers trading to the United States, Panama, and Canada.

IMEC

The International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC) is the only international employers’ organization dedicated to maritime industrial relations. Established over fifty years ago, they operate from their offices in London in the UK and Manila in the Philippines and represent over 200 shipping companies located all over the world.

INTERMANAGER

InterManager is the trade association for the ship management industry. Members include in-house or third-party managers or related organizations and businesses throughout the shipping industry. Collectively, InterManager members are involved in the management of more than 5,000 ships and are responsible for in excess of 250,000 seafarers.

MARCAS

Marcas is an association of shipping companies, which has the purpose of aggregating purchasing volume to obtain maximum value for goods and services. Maximum value is determined by a combination of price, quality, service, and assured supply and delivery. Marcas-preferred suppliers benefit from the potential purchasing of its members’ 1,700 vessels.
